Business news in brief - The Herald Palladium | July 6, 2005
UNION PIER -- The Round Barn Winery has opened a wine tasting room at 9185 Union Pier Road in Union Pier, with a cider mill to follow.
Round Barn Winery Union Pier will consist of two buildings totaling about 6,000 square feet.
The tasting room, with Round Barn's wines and brandies for tasting and sale, is temporarily open in the renovated rear building, which was already on the property.
When construction of the new front building is completed, the tasting room will move there, and the cider mill will operate in the rear building.
Round Barn spokeswoman Coleen Ryan said she expects the facility to hold its grand opening once construction is done in mid to late August.
The Union Pier facility also will sell fresh fruit from Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm near Eau Claire and Rachel's Chocolates from South Haven, using liqueurs made by Round Barn.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 469-6885.
The Round Barn Winery, owned by the Moersch family, is at 10983 Hills Road, near Baroda.
