Apple Demi Sec
The concept of this wine was brought on by two factors: one is the abundance of quality apples in our
area. The second was the flavor of the wine, which we discovered when fermenting our Apple Brandy.
A new take on our best selling wine, we have put together a secret blend of "Heirloom apples" that have an
unmistakable cider flavor complete with a touch of cinnamon on the finish.
Winemaker's Notes: A pleasant wine with beautiful spiced aromas. On the palate it shows a
strong herbal and apple quality. Clean, bright and sweet on the finish. Try it as a "mulled wine".
Food Pairings: Try it with spiced food like Thai, Indian or Chinese, this wine is also a
perfect compliment to barbecued foods, ham, and cheese. View recipes paired

Cabernet Sauvignon - Lake Michigan Shore
King of the reds, Cabernet Sauvignon is the principal component of the
great red wines of Bordeaux. Packed with complex flavor, a fine
Cabernet Sauvignon is full-bodied, rich, and full of black currant, dark
berry, cherry, cedar and tobacco aroma and flavors. The tannins that can
make the wine tough to drink in its youth also make it a prime candidate
for long aging.
Winemaker's Notes:
Hints of chocolate, elderberry and black currant dominate up front while
violet, plum and hints of orange peel appear as it opens up. Twenty
months in oak gives a nice balance of tannins on the palate and will allow
this wine to age exceptionally well. This wine will show best in 10 to 15
years.
Food Pairings: An excellent choice for lamb or steak. View recipes paired with
Cabernet Sauvignon. |

In the vineyard...
Harvest has arrived and we were on top of our game this year! Our early season thinning (when you pull excess fruit off early) has really paid off.
Even with the rain and cool temperatures, we are still pulling in nice, clean fruit. Quality wins over quantity this time around.
Look for the Chardonnay to be a standout in the 2009 vintage!
In the brewery...
Our new Harvest Ale uses lots of fresh hops which are grown on-site here at The Round Barn Estate in Baroda.
The hopheads are drinking it up fast - if you haven't tried it yet, NOW is the time to get out here!
In the distillery...
We are ready to make this year's RCMS Brandy along with the DiVine vodka. Do you know what RCMS stands for? Rick, Chris, Matt & Sherrie!
Our newest spirit, whiskey, is going into the barrel this winter - we can't wait for that to hit the shelves in the next few years.
Cheers!
Matt, Jason, Jim and Issac

Are all grapes harvested at the same time?
Not at all. First of all, each region has different weather patterns, so California usually picks before we do and Northern Michigan usually picks after we do. For that matter, the wineries in the Southern Hemisphere pick in March or September, and in Venezuela they have two vintages each year! The other difference is the grape. In fact, we may pick certain grape varieties in early September and others well into October and then there are ice wines which are often picked in mid-December.
